Wal-Mart guard quits after College Station shoplifter killed

A Wal-Mart loss prevention officer who shot and killed an armed shoplifter during a scuffle April 20 at the College Station store has resigned. Wal-Mart spokesman Greg Rossiter said Dustin Batson ?made a decision to resign? after he fatally shot Michael Bradshaw, 47, inside an office at the Supercenter at 1815 Brothers Blvd. The shooting has put a spotlight on Wal-Mart?s policies regarding its loss-prevention officers, and it comes on the heels of another shooting four weeks earlier at a North Austin Wal-Mart that claimed the life of an Austin police officer.
